Broadchurch is a TV drama featuring Dr. Who’s David Tennant, in which a body is found at the foot of the cliffs in the coastal town of Broadchurch. Broadchurch was filmed in the second half of 2012 and was written while its author, Chris Chibnall, was living in Bridport. Amongst other things, Chris wrote Life on Mars, Dr Who & Torchwood.
The story of Broadchurch is centred around a mysterious death, the intrigue & the stories of the people living in the small coastal town of Broadchurch.
As the story unfolds the viewer realises that Broadchurch is a town built on secrets & that any one of the Broadchurch residents could be responsible for the murder. As the focus of the subsequent police investigation shifts from one resident to another, each secret is revealed & we see how the residents begin to doubt even those closest to them, gradually turning on one another like dogs in a fight. One such victim of this is newsagent Jack Marshall. The local reporter uncovers his secret past & after much attention from local residents, he too is found dead at the foot of the cliffs.
