Our Yoga retreats are centred around the same skills as participants would gain in yoga classes. However, there is one integral difference. Each Wilderness Yoga Retreat takes place in a different secret location with unsurpassable views of the Jurassic Coast near Lyme Regis.
Our yoga retreat is run by professional yoga teacher Julie Oldfield.
Julie trained at the Devon School of Yoga for 2 years to gain her professional qualification, but has been practising yoga for over 20 years.
Julie has been running Yoga for beginners and more advanced Yoga classes in Lyme Regis for nearly 20 years.
While Yoga classes are very popular, it's interesting to do different activities, now and again.
She has taught in Dubai, Sri Lanka and recently studied Ayurvedic massage, an ancient form of Indian healing.
After returning from India, Julie went for a long walk with a friend ad both, simultaneously, thought what a perfect place to run Yoga retreats.
Each yoga retreat is tailored psecifically to meet the needs of the individual within each group, which is why they are ideal for beginners and the more advanced..
'Yoga means union or joining & provides a holistic approach to mind, body & spirit - Yoga is a way of life & a way of thinking.' (Julie Oldfield)

The yoga retreat begins with a short journey to our secret coastal location. Nearly 2 miles from the nearest road, we travel down a dirt track to a woodland clearing deep in the midst of a UNESCO woodland reserve. After unloading, we travel the short & final part of the journey on foot. The walk helps loosen the muscles and leaves you with the sensation of having left the world behind, one of the most fundamental aspects of meditation
'I have never been more conscious of it...how the sea changes in texture, colour, transparency.'
Experience the tranquility of meditation & yoga positions with panoramic views from a cliff-top meadow. Buried deep at the edge of the UNESCO woodland reserve, there is nothing to see except sea & sky with the occasional glimpse of a sailing boat bobbing on the horizon.
The distant cry of a lark can be heard and a solitary tree stands undisturbed with the elegant dexterity of its knarled and long-forgotten branches.
We have a passion for finding solitude - Let us take you to yours.
Bring your own picnic or we can provide a meal by arrangement.
